2014 Rocky Knoll Zinfandel
Mostly gentle sloped land, on the far north east corner of the Limerick Lane estate, the topography suddenly changes and the Rocky Knoll materializes. No only steeper and drier, this is the rockiest ground on the estate. In addition to the stony soils and topography, the Rocky Knoll Zinfandel is field-blended with Mourvedre and Petite Sirah - two of the most tannic and structured grape varieties. The vines planted in this rocky gritty dirt produce the richest, gutsiest, most intense wine from the estate. Thanks to its structure and bountiful acidity, the Rocky Knoll is a wine to be enjoyed for it’s power in its youth and a wine to be savored as it seemingly defies limits with its ageability.
